- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop large spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
