Beef-Stuffed Shells with Creamy Ricotta Filling

  • 1 box jumbo pasta shells
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 jar marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  4. In a large bowl, combine cooked beef, ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  5. Stuff each pasta shell with the beef and ricotta mixture.
  6. Spread half of the marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  7. Place the stuffed shells in the dish and cover with the remaining marinara sauce.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
  9. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly.

Notes

  • For added flavor, you can sauté onions and garlic with the beef.
  • Feel free to mix in other cheeses like provolone or cheddar for variations.
