  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugars, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the egg, then add the buttermilk and vegetable oil, whisking until combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined.
  5. Fold in the blueberries and chocolate chips.
  6. Scoop the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about two-thirds full.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the muffins cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For extra moisture, you can add a tablespoon of sour cream to the batter.
  • Feel free to substitute white chocolate chips for a different flavor twist.
