British Fish Pie

  • 1 cup shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 cups potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, then mash with milk and butter.
  3. In a pan, melt butter and stir in flour, cooking for 1 minute.
  4. Add milk gradually, cooking until thickened.
  5. Stir in the fish and shrimp, seasoning with salt, pepper, and parsley.
  6. Pour the fish mixture into a baking dish and top with mashed potatoes.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden.

Notes

  • For a creamier texture, add a splash of cream to the mashed potatoes.
  • Feel free to include other seafood such as scallops or smoked fish.
