Cheese Tteokbokki

A delicious and comforting dish, Cheese Tteokbokki combines soft rice cakes with melted cheese in a spicy sauce, perfect for indulgent cravings.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound tteok (Korean rice cakes)
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup fish cake, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tablespoon gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 green onion, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a pot, combine the water, soy sauce, sugar, gochujang, and gochugaru. Bring to a boil.
  2. Add the tteok and fish cake to the pot, simmering until the tteok is soft.
  3. Once the sauce thickens, reduce the heat and add mozzarella cheese on top.
  4. Cover the pot until the cheese is melted, then stir to combine.
  5. Garnish with chopped green onion and serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, try adding vegetables like cabbage or carrots.
  • Adjust the spice level by adding more or less gochujang.
