Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together melted butter, egg, and buttermilk.
  4. Combine the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just mixed.
  5. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and ground cinnamon for the filling.
  6. Fill muffin cups halfway, sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar mixture, then top with more batter.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
  9. Allow muffins to cool slightly before drizzling with glaze.
