  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/4 cup sugar (for sprinkling)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes to become frothy.
  2. Add flour, salt, ground cinnamon, and melted butter to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  6. Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a bagel.
  7. Boil a large pot of water and add the bagels, cooking for about 2 minutes on each side.
  8. Remove the bagels, let them cool slightly, then mix the sugar and cinnamon for the topping.
  9. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the bagels and transfer them to a baking sheet.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
