Hasselback Caprese Salad

A refreshing and visually appealing take on a classic Caprese salad, the Hasselback Caprese Salad combines vibrant colors and flavors that are perfect for summer.

Ingredients

  • 4 large tomatoes
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 3 tablespoons balsamic glaze
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice the tomatoes and mozzarella into thin slices, keeping them as even as possible.
  3. On a large serving platter, arrange the tomato and mozzarella slices in an alternating pattern.
  4. Insert basil leaves between the slices as you go.
  5. Drizzle the olive oil and balsamic glaze over the top.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve immediately or let it sit for a few minutes to meld the flavors.

Notes

  • For best results, use ripe but firm tomatoes.
