Rich Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake

A moist and decadent cake that combines rich chocolate and creamy peanut butter.

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract, and beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in the boiling water until combined.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove from pans and let cool completely on a wire rack.
  8. Spread peanut butter between the cooled cakes and frost with chocolate frosting.

Notes

  • For added texture, sprinkle crushed peanuts on top of the frosting.
  • This cake is best served at room temperature.
