  • 1 pound crab meat
  • 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 cup okra, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add flour and cook, stirring constantly, until it turns a dark brown color – this is the roux.
  2. Add garlic, onion, bell pepper, and celery to the pot; sauté until softened.
  3. Stir in the smoked sausage and cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Add okra and chicken broth; bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat and add the shrimp, crab meat, Worcestershire sauce, and Cajun seasoning. Simmer for 15-20 minutes.
