Shrimp Crab Nacho Corn Dogs

Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup lump crab meat
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine shrimp, crab meat, cheese, and set aside.
  2. In another bowl, mix cornmeal, flour, baking powder, chili powder, garlic powder, and salt.
  3. Add eggs and buttermilk to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  4. Fold in the seafood mixture carefully.
  5. Heat oil in a deep fryer or pot to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Use skewers to dip the mixture and fry until golden brown.
  7. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Notes

  • Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
  • For extra flavor, add jalapeños to the mixture.
